Liger cubs are part of Myrtle Beach Safari for at least 3 decades. During this span of time at least 4 litters of liger cubs (11 liger cubs in total) are born at this safari park. The first litter of liger cubs at Myrtle Beach Safari was born in 1990s. At that time 2 liger cubs were born and the name of these liger cubs was Sudan the liger and Samson the liger. Their father was Arthur the Lion, who was also a very famous lion. Both of these ligers survived as young and grew up to become huge big cats. Both Sudan the liger and Samson the liger weighed more than 900 pounds. Both ligers have appeared on Television shows as well i.e., Ligers at Friday Nights with Parents (NBC) and The Tonight Show with Jay Leo, where the guest star was Hollywood’s famous actress Kate Winslet.

The second litter of liger cubs at Myrtle Beach Safari was born in 2002. At that time four liger cubs were born at the Safari and all of these liger cubs were male liger cubs. Arthur the lion was the father of these four liger cubs as well. The names of these liger cubs were Hercules the liger, Zeus the liger, Sinbad the liger and Vulcan the liger. All of these four liger cubs were raised by Rajani Ferrante, Moksha Bybee, China York and Dr. Bhagavan Antle. Among them Hercules the liger is the biggest liger who is still alive today. Hercules the liger is also the biggest liger in the world and he has appeared twice within Guinness Book of World Records.

Then in 2010, a single liger cub was born again at Myrtle Beach Safari, South Carolina. He was also a male liger cub and his name was Aries the liger. This liger cub was also fathered by Arthur the lion and on aggregate, Aries was the 7th liger cub of Arthur the lion. Aries the liger is still alive today and he often visits Jungle Island at Miami and King Richards’ faire at Massachusetts as well. As a cub,+ Aries the liger has also appeared on several global mainstream media websites such as Daily Mail, The Herald Sun Australia and The News AU. He also has many pictures with Hercules the liger and Moksha Bybee as well, where he was represented as its younger brother.

The fourth litter of liger cubs at Myrtle Beach Safari was born during 2014. This time the liger cubs were more special than before; because this time, it was a litter of world’s rarest white liger cubs. These liger cubs were born to a male white lion and a female white tigress. Their father and mother’s names were Lord Ivory the lion and Saraswati the tigress. All of these white liger cubs were male liger cubs. The names of these white liger cubs were Apollo, Samson, Yeti and Odlin the liger. Yeti among the liger cubs was the biggest at the time of birth. It should be noted that these white liger cubs were not vividly as white like white lions and white tigers but they were distinguishably whiter than the normal liger cubs.

The mortality rate of the liger cubs, at Myrtle Beach Safari has been zero so far. It truly shows that, how much care and dedication they have put forward for the liger cubs. This also proves that the liger cubs a high degree of survival rate and they have perfect hybrid genes. They have a fully dedicated team and volunteers at Myrtle Beach Safari, who take care of these liger cubs right after their birth. In each decade from 1990s till now, Myrtle Beach Safari always has liger cubs at their animal sanctuary and it is probably the only place which has successfully reared this much amount of liger cubs during this time. This also means that this safari park will have maximum research information about liger cubs and ligers in general.
